My time with corporate jobs was short lived. I worked on my own for almost ten years and haven't looked back! See why I love helping other small business owners and how I want to help you!
My name is Melissa and I am a corporate world drop out. Congrats on joining me in this exciting, scary and ever-fulfilling world!
Ever since I was a kid I was always coming up with ideas for a business. I loved the process of creating something new and different. However, in the corporate world, that little entrepreneurial spirit was often squashed with rules and guidelines, often from a boss or that boss's boss.
I did a 180 and left my office job to teach ballroom dance for a handful of years (yeah with zero experience!) which lead to working in the bridal industry. Somehow this wonderful concoction of marketing experience, being creative through dance and working closely with students and learning sales through retail led me to opening my own bridal shop.
It was an incredible experience to be able to create something from the ground up only to successfully sell it. Designing the store, working closely with vendors, hiring staff, refining the sales process, meeting countless brides... having that total creative freedom to learn and grow was priceless.
I have a passion of wanting to help others succeed in their own business. I am your hype girl and love to talk "shop". My goal is to help lay the foundation so you can do what you do best. Leave the rest to me!
Have you seen this show yet on Apple TV? If not, go binge it now! I'm one of those people who gets absorbed into characters and story lines. Ted Lasso is a show that is not only clever, it a feel-good show on so many levels! The character development is fantastic, you feel so invested with each one.
No this isn't a latest love at all. This has been a deep rooted affair for years now. Anyone who knows me well enough knows my obsession for this store. Not only have I gotten people to join, but I will get questions pretty often about products. Do I own stock in this company yet? *looks up portfolio*
Nothing new here, podcasts have been on the up and up for a while now. When I'm in the car, this is always a go-to for me. I have every intention of reading a book, but mom life, work life, being tired from well, life, usually trumps any efforts of reading and retaining a whole book in a normal timeframe.
I never have a bad hair day ever since my hair stylist, Stephanie, installed Invisible Bead Extensions for me. My hair is the long, lush hair I've always wish I had and now I do. Between running errands, going to the gym and taking care of a toddler, my hair is so easy to take care of! Game changer.
My Nonno (Italian for Grandfather) was an amazing gardener. I always loved seeing what he was growing every year. I enjoyed eating whatever he grew even more! I started my own raised garden beds last year and was very excited to be able to freeze so many roma tomatoes for sauce and picked a ton of basil to make pesto. Yum.
